It may not feel like it, but we’re closing in on the reveal of the Nintendo Switch’s successor.
By how much though? Well, that’s an answer that’s hard to pin down.
You see, Nintendo confirmed that they’d be unveiling their next console before the end of the current fiscal year which ends in April 2025.

With that in mind, there’s a maximum of about five months left to wait, hence me saying we’re on the final stretch.
That’s about the level of specificity I can provide though.
The reveal could land tomorrow, or it could land in March. We simply don’t know.
Or do we?

One Famiboards user has surfaced to say that the Switch 2 will be unveiled in January 2025 with a release following in March.
They also happened to tease two potential Pokémon remakes.
Pokémon Legends Z-A is the next game to release in the series, coming 2025.
Before we proceed, I have to urge you to take all of this with a large pinch of salt.

The Famiboards user claims to have received their information from “a source that has been correct about every information since 2020”.
They wrote, “They have leaked the Nintendo Switch OLED model, Mario and Luigi: Brothership, the August Indie World and Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase and its contents and more.”
That certainly adds more weight to the claim - if true - but again, nothing here is set in stone.
But let’s hop back to those potential remakes.

The Famiboards user said, “Pokémon HOME will be on Ounce, but it will have a different host and developer, instead of Grand Oak in the Nintendo Switch version. Here's the code to see who is that character, and will be a hint to the next Pokémon main series games after Gaia and its DLCs,” which was followed by a long trail of numbers.
Reddit user Icy-ConcentrationC was able to use a code from user YefimShifrin to decipher the numbers which roughly equated to the following message: “I love your style of Pokémon battling. Somehow your Pokémon look like they're having so much fun.”
That’s a line said by Bianca during a post-game battle in Pokémon Black and White leading many to wonder if it’s those games that’ll next receive the remake treatment.
I don’t want us to get ahead of ourselves though as this is, after all, a Famiboards ‘leak’.

I’ve already warned you to take such information with a pinch of salt but it feels like a warning worth encouraging you to heed once more.
As much as I’d love to see Black and White surface again, I think we’ll have to wait and see what Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have in store for us.
