Nintendo drops huge wave of free Switch downloads you've until 12 August to grab

So many freebies

August is off to a promising start for Nintendo owners after the brand dropped a massive selection of free Switch downloads.

The only problem we have with the offer is that it ends on 12 August.

That means you have a few days to download one or more of these offerings before they’re gone.

Nintendo Switch players have already been surprised with a GBA classic, which would be satisfying enough for most.

But Nintendo decided to be extra generous this month.

To show our appreciation for all things Mario, let's watch the Super Mario Bros. Wonder trailer one more time.

Shared by Twitter account ឵឵NSO Icons Alerts, it’s been brought to our attention that a large wave of Super Mario inspired icons have arrived.

This isn’t the first time the franchise has been celebrated like this – we’ve had many opportunities over the years to show our appreciation for this little plumber and co.

Nevertheless, we’re not about to turn our backs on new ways to decorate our profile.

Diversity is the order of the day with these downloads; icons inspired by Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Mario Karts 8 Deluxe, and Super Mario Odyssey are available.

Whether you want a new character, an updated background, or even a snazzy new frame, there are several options to choose from.

We’ll never look a gift horse in the mouth; however, if you’re indifferent to these free downloads, we’d like to inform you that the Nintendo Switch 2’s first RPG has seemingly been confirmed.

As much as I adore my Switch, I’m more than ready for an upgrade.

It is time.

Yet, we've not even caught a glimpse of the long-anticipated new hardware yet.

What’s a gamer to do but change their profile image for the umpteenth time?

Might as well, especially when it’ll cost us nothing to do so.
