Nintendo drops new wave of free downloads you've days to claim

Get them while they last

Nintendo Switch can still grab an extraordinary number of freebies on their console right now, but time is slowly running out to claim them.

Nintendo is notoriously tight when it comes to freebies, and it’s very much a case of “we didn’t want this, but I guess we’ll take it anyway,” the most you’ll get is a free-to-play weekend.

At least Nintendo is putting its cash to good use though, as Mario & Luigi Brothership looks simply amazing

At this moment in time Nintendo Switch users can claim a bunch of icons for their profiles, which isn’t much but they look neat nonetheless.

As I’m sure most are aware the icons are usually around 10 platinum coins each, and you earn platinum coins through completing challenges or playing certain games at certain times, you don’t need to spend any money to earn them like the gold coins making anything you buy with them technically free.

The icons currently up for grabs come from the Super Mario series, specifically Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Bros 3D World, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Super Mario Bros Wonder.

They feature characters and backgrounds from all of the above games, but remember you can’t mix and match, they come as sets and you can’t deviate from those sets to create your own custom profile images unfortunately.

These aren’t the only icons available right now either, as there are also some new ones to celebrate the launch of Super Mario Party Jamboree, and some Zelda ones based on Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom.

As for the Mario ones though, you don’t have long to grab the ones you want, or all of them, as they’ll be shuffled off to make room for new icons on 28 October.

So if you spot your favourite character or just like collecting them you’ve got about a week to do so.
