The latest free download for Hogwarts Legacy has introduced some much-needed quality-of-life changes that fans will definitely notice while roaming the halls of Hogwarts.
This patch is pretty darn big. Not quite as beefy as the latest Baldur’s Gate 3 patch that had some people uninstalling and re-installing the game, but it’s still sizeable, especially for the Nintendo Switch.
Enrol at Hogwarts in the Hogwarts Legacy trailer!
We love the Switch, but we can’t deny that sometimes it struggles with large games. Fortunately for Hogwarts Legacy fans, the game has impressed rather than disappointed those playing it on the handheld. Granted, the experience isn’t as polished as other console playthroughs, but it’s been a nice surprise for those who’d prepared for the worst.

Sadly though, issues and little niggling flaws have crept through. Consequently, Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche have been working hard to address as many of those issues as possible. We won’t just copy and paste all the information here because, quite frankly, it would make this article ridiculously lengthy. However, we’ll give a brief overview, followed by a handy link to the full list should you want to know more.
General fixes include:
- Addressed book on the pedestal from clipping while playing.
- Improved loading times in and out of Hogsmeade shops
- Addressed textures flickering when the avatar stands at a specific distance in the Glided Perch.
- Addressed avatar not being able to destroy the pillars after restarting the mission.
- Address some save game issues.
- Addressed new additions and edits to the game credit listing.
- Addressed when reloading from the last save after rescuing the phoenix makes the avatar repeat their meeting line despite the phoenix not being there.
Such dedication to ensuring the Nintendo port is as good as its counterparts is worthy of praise indeed, and is likely part of the reason Google discovered that HL was the most popular game of the year. All those searches have resulted in a win for the game!
