Normally when we see the words “live service game”, we start to worry.
But apparently in this instance, such a feature is exactly what the franchise needs.
News that the next Battlefield title will be the “largest in franchise history” has whet fans’ appetites, and as such they’re now hurrying to learn more.

Wilson seems to be saying this as if it’s a positive aspect of the new game’s gameplay, but fans aren’t convinced by this.

In fact, they’re downright put off by this teaser.
“I already know I don't want to play this game, ty Andrew!” joked Twitter user @HiddenXperia upon reading the tweet.
Another user, this time BigFryTV, said, “It's very telling that he never said ‘This is going to be a good game’. LOL, Jesus Christ.”

“Is this a threat?” was asked, which tells you everything you need to know about how well received the new Battlefield will be if live service is a key feature.
The amount of doubt fans have is palpable, which is likely not the responses Keighley or Wilson wanted.
But is it really a surprise fans aren’t feeling it?

Battlefield 2042 has been killed off after its underwhelming run, with fans criticising the action title for being “bare bones”.
Hopefully, EA will rethink this move, but it seems unlikely. So much so that some fans are joking that AI now runs EA. That’s how much faith the fandom has in the publisher.
“So they [EA] didn’t learn a f**king thing,” commented a Redditor. “Got it.”
Well, this is just awkward.
