Half-Life 3 gameplay leaks, and it sounds absolutely wild

Half-Life 3 gameplay leaks, and it sounds absolutely wild

Take it with a grain of salt

The mythical Half-Life 3 has become a popular internet meme and point of discussion since Half-Life 2: Episode Two.

Valve ending things on a cliffhanger that’s yet to be properly resolved, and it’s been driving fans crazy for years now as they theorise if Half-Life 3 actually exists, and when the company plans to drop it.

Have you played the Silent Hill 2 remake yet?

While we still don’t know if Half-Life 3 is officially in development, one could argue there’s no better time for Valve to bring back its most iconic series, and the supposed leaks for the game reckon it’ll be wildly different to anything we got before.

Tyler McVickers posted a video going through some of this leaked info, which in all honesty seems out of date as it features concept art from 2013-2015.

The concept art showed Gordon Freeman with alien powers that would allow him to control fire, water and other elements, all of which would use a more complex game engine than the previous games.

It’s unknown what could have happened to development, though perhaps the ideas were simply too big for the technology of the time, something that shouldn’t be a problem nowadays.

Other improvements included actual temperature fluctuations on surfaces, as well as enhanced AI making shootouts more engaging and exciting.

You can see all of this in the YouTube video, and if the leaks are real it sounds like Valve was/is cooking up something grand.

There are also rumours that Portal 3 is in development, so Valve planning a surprise announcement of both games at a later date remains a possibility.

The real question is if Half-Life 3 does get made and released, will it be worth the wait? After all, fans have spent hours of their time theorising what a third game could bring to the table, and there’s a lot of pressure on Valve to deliver.
