A fan-made sequel to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas takes CJ back to Los Santos, this time as an old man.
Set 30 years after the events of San Andreas, the trailer brings an older, wiser, and more wrinkly CJ back to his old stomping ground, where he takes a trip down memory lane and reminisces on the old days.
Check out GTA: Vice City remastered below!
Complete with modern versions of well-known locations from the old game, as well as flashbacks to some of the more memorable scenes, such as Big Smoke’s infamous fast-food order, the trailer sets up an very interesting concept for a sequel.

While most Grand Theft Auto protagonists are either young or middle-aged, we’ve never had a game that focuses on an older person, probably because the idea of a pensioner running around, shooting people and stealing cars is completely ridiculous, but GTA has never really strived for realism.
When it was revealed that Grand Theft Auto V would bring the series back to Los Santos, players descended upon the open world looking for details and references that tie it back to the older game, but no matter how hard they looked, its protagonist CJ was nowhere to be found.
Given how the series is quite fond of bringing back legacy characters, either for brief cameos or including them in story expansions, it’d make sense to bring CJ back into the fold at some point, even if it’s just to briefly show the new generation how things got done back in the ‘90s.
It’s a stunning-looking trailer, all made with the latest bells and whistles from Unreal Engine 5, and it was great to see such a beloved video game protagonist return after so many years, even if was through a fan-made project.

You never know, maybe he’ll get his big return in the story or side content of Grand Theft Auto VI.
