Dread. That’s what fills every video games journalist whenever they think of GTA VI, not because it’ll be bad, but because we’re unsure of when the official announcement will eventually happen. Today isn’t an official announcement day, however, it fills me with dread all the same – GTA VI will be unplayable for a massive portion of the fandom.
As if we didn’t need more bad news on top of the massive bad news cake we’ve had to digest this week, yet here we all, shoving in that cake as we attempt to fill the endless void. Besides, fans already have “no hope” left after yet another failed GTA trailer drop, so what’s one more disappointment?

The news of a PC delay comes from trusted GTA VI leaker Tez2. Initially, they were hopeful that the game would launch for PC on the same day as consoles, however, that hope has now dissipated. “Internally, the PC version is more buggy than the console versions. Rockstar wouldn’t want to end up with a Star Wars Jedi: Survivor or The Last of Us Part 1 PC situation for the most anticipated game.”

Sadly, Tez2 didn’t go into further details, leaving us all guessing as to why the PC version is so buggy. I don't want to say this game is cursed, but it almost feels rude not to put that out there. Nonetheless, with such a trusted leak suggesting that Rockstar Games needs more time, the likelihood of a delay feels more credible by the day, even if the PC version isn’t to blame.
It’s important for me to contextualise further here, and remind gamers that Rockstar is known for releasing its PC versions much later than its console counterparts – it happened with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption II. By all accounts, staggered launches seem to be the publisher’s bread and butter. But in knowing that, I find no glimmer of hope; I was 23 years old when GTA VI reportedly went into development, and I worry I’ll be another decade older when it’s finally released.
