In a shocking twist that absolutely no one saw coming (not really), GTA VI is already breaking records, and it’s not even out yet.
It’s hard to believe that a full-reveal trailer for GTA VI is finally on the horizon, specifically tomorrow, 5 December. Rockstar Games will be giving fans a glimpse of the new and improved Vice City, and hopefully a peek at the new protagonists and release date for the game.
Speaking of a new and improved Vice City, if it looks anything like this remaster we’ll be in for a good time
Fans have been speculating for months when a trailer will drop, before Rockstar confirmed it’d air sometime in December, before eventually providing a specific date. Aside from the release date, fans have also been anticipating the GTA VI trailer and the game itself will shatter previously-held records for views and purchases.

As if by self-fulfilling prophecy, internet records are already being broken and we still haven’t even seen the game yet.
The announcement tweet for the GTA VI trailer reportedly amassed over 1.8 million likes in the first 24 hours of it being published, and now holds the title of the most-liked gaming-related tweet on the social media platform.
Now that’s certainly an impressive feat, but I’d wager it’s nowhere near the reception the actual trailer will get.
To put things into perspective, for a time GTA V was the biggest media product on the planet and broke several records of its own. Now that we’re all 10 years older and have much stronger hardware thanks to improved PCs and new-gen consoles, the hype for Rockstar’s next open world is far greater than it used to be.

It’s scary to imagine all that hype could potentially result in disappointment, but Rockstar Games is a proven master of open-world adventures, so I think we’re in for a treat with GTA VI, and we’ll know for sure tomorrow when the trailer debuts online.
