GTA 6 release date window quietly confirmed, putting our delay fears to rest

GTA 6 release date window quietly confirmed, putting our delay fears to rest

And now we can all breathe a sigh of relief

Delay rumours regarding GTA VI can finally be put to rest after Rockstar Games quietly confirmed its release date window.

GTA VI delay warnings have been a regular topic of the rumour mill since we saw the first (and only) trailer.

However, in the last couple of weeks, those warnings have caused quite a bit of upset among fans.

And here we have the one, the only GTA VI trailer. Fancy watching it before you go?

After an insider claimed that the new Rockstar title could be pushed back until 2026, news then spread that such delays were unlikely.

This was already enough to divide fans, but then another claim left them feeling frustrated – they just wanted answers.

It’s been an unpleasant rollercoaster of (mis)information.

Now it would seem that all those delay worries were for naught, with the GTA VI launch still scheduled for autumn 2025.

This information comes from Rockstar itself, via the Twitter feed of gaming reporter @Mr_Rebs_.

Their post reads, “Take-Two Interactive just released their 2024 annual report which states ‘Rockstar Games plans to release Grand Theft Auto VI in the Fall of calendar 2025… and will share more details over time.’ This proves the delay rumour was false.”

In addition to this, a link to the source is provided so fans can read more in their own time.

After what we’ve just seen, fears should be put to rest, and for many gamers they are. However, there are some who remain cautious.

“They have a whole year to delay it. Plenty of time for multiple delays even!” commented @The_Soupinator.

As with any kind of release, delays could still happen – nobody knows the future.

That said, this annual report from Take-Two certainly paints a picture of confidence in the new GTA launching as planned.

With new teasers accidentally leaked by Rockstar itself, we suspect speculation will continue to run rampant as fans await that elusive second trailer.

As we approach the one-year anniversary of when the first trailer dropped, the tension is mounting, and expectation is high.
