Grand Theft Auto VI NPCs will apparently be much smarter than they were in previous games, with some even being able to remember your interactions with them.
It’s been a disappointing few weeks for Grand Theft Auto fans, as many were sure Rockstar Games would announce GTA VI in October. When that clearly didn’t happen, I’m sure many lost hope and have been sulking in a corner ever since.

To add insult to injury, the leaks and rumours surrounding the game live on, with the latest sharing a lot of interesting details about the game’s NPCs.

The leaks were presented by Tobbelobben30 on Reddit, who claims to have come across an “AI Debug” menu that features all the new stuff NPCs will be capable of in the full game, and it’s a big advancement from GTA V, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Animations have supposedly received an overhaul, with facial expressions and character gestures being more realistic than ever, and this apparently applies to the animals in the game as well.
The most interesting leak though was the intelligence of the AI. It’s reported that they’ll be smarter than ever before, so smart that they’ll be able to remember the little interactions you have with them. This applies to decisions made in the game, as well as actions towards them which will most likely involve hitting or shooting them when they’re wandering around.
It’s also stated they’ll be more perceptive of your character too, taking note of their appearance and even their “smell.”

Another exciting addition is the return of NPC interactions, specifically gang warfare. This was present in GTA: San Andreas, where you’d regularly find gangs fighting each other, or see the police pursuing or fighting those causing chaos.
This will apparently return in GTA VI, which will likely go a long way in making Vice City and its surrounding areas feel much more immersive and alive.
Of course, all of this is speculation at the time of writing, meaning we’ll know for sure when Rockstar confirms it in a trailer, or when the game eventually launches.
