So far, we’ve seen interiors for certain buildings like the nightclub, the overhauled police AI in action during a car chase, and now, confirmation that the main portion of the game will take place in Vice City.
GTA VI’s world map has been a big talking point amongst fans, as it’s rumoured to be continuously expanding, as well as including several additional areas, not just Vice City. Previous games, most notably Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, included multiple cities that could be visited by crossing bridges to different islands, leading many to assume GTA VI will follow a similar formula.
Now, it’s finally confirmed that the new game will include Vice City, in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment that eagle-eyed fans spotted during the recent gameplay leak.
The leak, posted by RockstarGTAVl on Twitter, saw the main character looking around the inside of a car. The in-game camera then positioned itself at just the right angle to reveal a building in the background called featuring Vice City’s name, thus confirming it’s in there, we just don’t know if it’s the only city featured or not.

Of course, we’ll know all the details when Rockstar decides to share them, though we have no idea when that may be. Rockstar’s publisher Take-Two Interactive has hinted the game is aiming for a 2025 release date. If that’s true, we could get out first look at the game either later this year or sometime during 2024.
GTA VI gets closer to releasing every day, though the wait remains unbearable, to say the least. When it launches, it’ll be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.
