If there’s one thing gamers want from this year above all else, it’s for GTA VI to launch as planned.
Long before the internet went wild for the first – and currently only – GTA VI trailer, speculation regarding its release date was rife.
Since then, it’s easily become the most anticipated game of 2025.

So much so, it won an award for just that at The Game Awards 2024.
The irony that the new GTA has won an award before it’s been released isn’t lost on anyone.

Nobody wants to hear such news, but it’s felt increasingly likely.
However, an analyst believes that all is going according to plan with Rockstar’s upcoming title, much to our amazement.
The analyst in question, George Osborn, has said that there’re “strong signs” that GTA VI will launch in autumn 2025.
In an interview with Indy100, Osborn explained, “The clues and the hints, like Take-Two's decision to speak about GTA VI as confidently as it has been in its financials, is not a sure sign that it's going to launch, but it's a pretty strong one.”

They added, “And if there was more concern, I think expectations would have been managed a bit more carefully.”
While Osborn is confident in their assessment, they note that the goal posts can always move.
“There is still a chance it could go [back to 2026], but I would say the safe money is on an autumn release and by autumn I think it would be October or November.”
With “next-gen” gameplay already leaked online, fans are chomping at the bit to finally see this photorealistic world in action.
