Ghost Of Tsushima’s combat combined with the depressing aura of Dark Souls makes for one hell of an action/adventure game.
You could argue that’s just Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice but that’s not the game we’re looking to talk about today.
That said, check out the trailer for Ghost Of Yōtei, releasing sometime this year
The game we’re talking about today is currently free-to-play on Steam courtesy of a new demo, as the full-game hasn’t been released yet.

It’s called Redemption of Liuyin, and it’s as I described earlier with an aesthetic similar to Ghost Of Tsushima but with more challenging gameplay than you'd expect from a FromSoftware game.
You can actually draw a lot of similarities to Phantom Blade Zero, another game that’s presumably coming out this year with a similar vibe.
The game’s description said it’s an “ancient style fantasy, multi-ending action role-playing game. As the third installment of the Ryukyu Hidden series and the Ryukyu Hidden Nine Absolute Reincarnation Chapter, the game is designed with the principle of promoting offense and hesitation to defeat in its combat system.”
The new demo will give you a taste of what the full-game has to offer, as well as teach you the basics of its combat.

Should be a fun time, and if you’re looking for a new game to challenge your reflexes and resolve in 2025 this could be one of them.
If you primarily play on a Steam Deck like me I’m afraid I can’t tell you if the demo will work on the device, but hopefully it does as I really need to use mine more…
Regardless, Redemption of Liuyin looks like a solid action-adventure game, and one that’s well-worth a go while the demo is free.
