Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 has received a new update in the year of Lord 2024, and it’s believed to be a precursor to the game’s Xbox Game Pass debut.
Ever since Xbox acquired Activision Blizzard fans have been patiently waiting to see the merger bear fruit, and by that I mean getting more titles added to Xbox Game Pass. Xbox boss Phil Spencer told fans it’ll take a while before we’ll see a full library of Activision Blizzard games on the subscription service, though it seems work on that is finally kicking off with the recent announcement Diablo IV will be added later this year.

Now fans are adamant the next title to make its way on to the service will be Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 due to a new update.

The update in question fixes the game’s theater mode, allowing players to relive some of their proudest multiplayer moments and collect those sweet, sweet killcam clips. It also fixes the Emblem Editor which lets players create their own images for their player cards.
It’s not the most exciting update, but given the game came out 12 years ago it’s certainly suspicious that Activision is choosing to update the game now. Not too long ago the Call Of Duty franchise made headlines due to the online servers for several OG games coming back online, which was also seen as an indication the games would soon arrive on Xbox Game Pass. Neither Xbox or Activision Blizzard has commented on the recent update.
In other news, Xbox’s pivot to third-party gaming has officially kicked off with the announcement that four exclusive games will soon make their debut on the PlayStation 5. These include Sea Of Thieves, Grounded, Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment and will gradually release on the PS5 over the next few weeks.
