Baldur's Gate 3 developer, Larian Studios, is planning a hefty content update that will change the fate of a fan-favourite character.
Arguably the biggest RPG to release this year, though it might have competition from Starfield, Baldur's Gate 3 has captured the hearts and minds of thousands of gamers on PC.

Centering around Dungeons & Dragons style gameplay, it's given players the freedom to be the noblest of heroes, or the most depraved outlaws imaginable. It's also unbelievably kinky, with plenty of options for making the magic happen, so much so that some players have turned it into a challenge with sex-speed runs.

Despite all that content though, fans want more. Larian Studios has obviously heard the demand, as the team is reportedly considering a DLC expansion, and is also rolling out a new update very soon.
The free update was discussed in a recent blog post from Larian via its Steam page, outlining what fans can expect when the download drops and many liked what they saw, including an alternate ending to a fan-favourite character.
That character is Karlach, a hot-headed Barbarian that fans will undoubtedly recognise as one of the best companions in the game. She also gained popularity on social media due to several hilarious interactions you can have with her, especially if you go down the romance route with her.
Unfortunately, none of Karlach's endings are happy ones, as each one either ends with her death, banishment or a tentacle-ly transformation This didn't go down well with the community, and it's something Larian Studios aims to change in the upcoming update.

The blog post said: "We’ve started expanding the epilogues and you’ll see the first results of that in Patch 2 with the addition of a new optional ending with Karlach. It’s fiery, poignant, and gives her the ending she deserves."
Seems like Karlach might get a happy ending after all, just in time for the PlayStation 5 port of the game which launches next week, with an Xbox version all on the way later this year.
Baldur's Gate 3 can currently be played on PC via Steam.
