Assassin’s Creed Red has finally gotten an official title, and it’s getting a gameplay reveal very soon.
Ubisoft surprised us today with the announcement that its highly-anticipated Assassin’s Creed game, previously known as Assassin’s Creed Red, will be getting a full-on reveal later this year.
Check out the teaser trailer for the game below
In an official tweet from the studio, it was revealed the game will actually be called Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and was accompanied by an IRL image of real-life Japan teasing the countdown to a full reveal.

It was revealed in the same tweet that an “Official Cinematic World Premiere Trailer” will be released on 15 May, at 9am PT.
Assassin’s Creed fans have been patiently waiting for more information on the game, as very few details have been shared by Ubisoft up to now.
What we do know is it’ll take place in Feudal Japan, and be another game that follows two protagonists rather than just one.

One character will have a focus on stealth gameplay, being trained as a shinobi, whereas the other will be a samurai and be better suited to combat.
It’ll also be another open world title similar to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, though hopefully the traversal won’t be as arduous as those titles.
Another similarity it’ll share with its predecessors will reportedly be another deep-dive into the mythology of the culture it’s part of, as it’s said the story will introduce Yokai spirits as well as take inspiration from other Japanese folk tales.
We’re yet to see official gameplay at the time of writing, but all of that should hopefully change on Wednesday, and we also be one step closer to getting a release date.
Advert
Assassin’s Creed Shadow will release sometime later this year for the Xbox Series X/S, the PlayStation 5 and PCs.
