Assassin’s Creed fans are losing their minds at a last minute cancellation by Ubisoft for previews of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
At the time of writing nothing has been said about the game itself, so for now it looks like it’s still on track for its November release, though this could always change in the future.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the next open-world adventure by Ubisoft, which takes players to Feudal Japan, a setting many have been wanting for years now.

The game will also take the unique stance of giving you control over two very different characters, one who plays like a traditional assassin and a samurai who’d rather rush in sword-swinging than sneak around.
Despite some controversy over historical accuracy many are excited to play, though this week previews for the title were unexpectedly cancelled.
Insider Gaming reported the last minute cancellations, which would have given press the chance to play a snippet of the full game for an idea of its story, open-world exploration and the different gameplay options.
It’s currently unknown why the previews were cancelled, but as you can expect many fans are fearing the worst for the full game’s release.

Comments in a Reddit thread discussing the cancellation painted a clear picture of everyone’s feelings on the matter, with one pointing out the awful timing since the Ghost Of Tsushima sequel was announced yesterday.
“It's gonna get delayed” said one user, which as said before doesn’t seem to be the case just yet, though it wouldn’t be a surprise either.
“I'm guessing that Ubisoft probably got spooked by the Star Wars Outlaws reception, so they're going to delay Assassin’s Creed Shadows until next year to make sure it's in the best possible state” added one fan.
While we probably won’t know the reason why previews got cancelled, the ball is now in Ubisoft’s court to let fans know the current state of the game.
