breaking news
This Xbox Showcase is already proving to be ridiculously strong. We’re mere minutes in and yet we’ve already been treated to several juicy reveals. I can hardly type fast enough. Seriously.
Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world Star Wars game, titled Outlaws, received its first trailer - and it’s been confirmed that it’ll release next year. We’ve also finally got a new Fable trailer starring Richard Ayoade - a casting which I certainly didn’t see coming. You’re here for Payday 3 news though, and Payday 3 news is exactly what I have. The highly-anticipated sequel has been the talk of the town in recent days. A release date leaked online earlier this week but we don’t have to rely on leaks anymore. The game got a full reveal during tonight’s Xbox Showcase.
Take a look at the brand new trailer for Payday 3 below.
The co-op FPS franchise Payday is back - and Payday 3 is just around the corner. The game will officially release on 21 September, plus we’ve got our first look at what the gameplay will look like. That trailer certainly hasn’t disappointed, although bear in mind that there were certainly more than a few cinematics peppered between the actual gameplay. Still, I’m impressed.

In the gameplay, we see plenty of heists, chaotic shootouts, and weapons galore … It’s exactly what we’ve come to expect from the franchise. As with previous entries, Payday 3 has been developed by Overkill Software, hence the classic feel evident in the latest trailer. The game is to be set in New York City, although further details on the ‘unknown threat’ that the game centres around are thin on the ground.
“Thanks to years of experience and a mysterious new player in the criminal underworld, they quickly get their hands on the first lucrative heists and leave their explosive calling card with the city's security and police forces,” reads an official synopsis (via IGN).
Payday 3 is an Xbox Game Pass day one release but in addition to releasing on Xbox Series X/S, it will also release on PC and PlayStation 5.
