You have to admire Netflix's business model. It is, as far as I'm aware, the first streaming service out there that has tried getting people invested in shows, cancelling those shows, and then raising the cost of a subscription.
Clearly, this is starting to catch up with the company somewhat. The streaming giant revealed in its latest earnings report that it just recorded its biggest loss in nearly 10 years, and soon after managed to wipe $50 billion of its value in less than 24 hours.
There are all sorts of factors at play in regards to Netflix losing subscribers of course. The cost of living crisis and pulling out of Russia have played their part, but even the most loyal subscribers are questioning why they're going along with price increases and password sharing crackdowns while Netflix cancels their favourite shows.
Just last week it emerged that Netflix had axed a number of high-profile animated projects, and the planned sequel to Will Smith's Bright 2.

Now, Variety reports that the Michael B. Jordan-produced superhero drama Raising Dion has been axed after just two seasons. Raising Dion is a superhero show with a twist, focusing on the challenges of raising a young boy who discovers he has powers. The show received largely positive reviews and found a modest audience, but it evidently wasn't enough to warrant a third season.
One of the show's stars, Sammi Haney, took to Instagram to confirm the news and thanks fans for their support.
"Sad to say that Raising Dion is CANCELED," they wrote. "Thank you for all of the amazing support we got from all of our wonderful fans! Season two was a success, equal to season one, even if just looking at how many people watched all of it and wanted a season three!"
Series lead Ja'Siah Young added on Instagram: "I just wanted to let you guys know that Raising Dion will not be coming out for season three. It's not any of us, it's not me, it's not you guys.

"You guys were great, I really loved it and I loved every moment of it, thank you, but Raising Dion won't be coming for season three. It's all right guys, don't worry, I'm still acting, so I'll see you in the next one though....It's just how the game goes. Sometimes the game goes (that way). I just wanted to let you guys know as soon as I could."
