It’s no secret over here at GAMINGbible that I’m a huge Naughty Dog fan so naturally, I loved this year’s The Last Of Us Part I. That being said, I’m looking forward to the studio immersing in a new story seeing as we haven’t been since The Last of Us Part II landed in 2020. Beyond that, our last original story outside of the TLOU universe came in 2017 with the release of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
Next year continues to look very TLOU centric for Naughty Dog. The HBO TV adaptation is on the way plus we should learn more about the announced multiplayer project. Excitingly though, it looks as if Uncharted could also be making a secret comeback - and it’s about time.
Check out the trailer for HBO’s upcoming The Last of Us series below.
As much as I stan TLOU and hope to see Naughty Dog announce Part III, I’d also love for the studio to simultaneously step outside of that world and that could very well be the case. Over on the PlayStation website, PlayStation Global is hiring a game design intern and the job description contains a juicy bit of information.
Advert
It reads, “We are a new PlayStation studio based in San Diego, CA. Our team seeks to impact SIE positively by inspiring the thoughts and emotions of players worldwide through an amazing gaming experience. Currently we are co-developing an exciting new project with Naughty Dog in a beloved franchise.”
It can be assumed that the job advert isn’t referring to the TLOU multiplayer project as that’s being developed in-house at Naughty Dog as far as we’re aware. Uncharted certainly ticks the ‘beloved franchise’ box and the film adaptation’s commercial success this year proves there’s a continued appetite for this world. Personally, I’d love to see Chloe, Nadine and Sam continue to helm the franchise. This is a project we’ll be keeping an eye on.
