Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is almost here. In fact, it sort of already is - players who preordered the game got access to the campaign last week, and they’ve been getting well and truly stuck into it.
Not all of the title's praise has been directed towards the actual gameplay, though. As reported by VGC, fans have been incredibly impressed by the realism of one of the campaign locations, which looks so good, it’d be understandable if you thought that gameplay footage from it was actually a real video. Seriously, it’s like that Unreal Engine 5 train station all over again.
Before we get into it, take a look at some third-person gameplay from MWII's beta below.
The mission in question is the one which takes place in Amsterdam. Even at first glance, the scenery is positively gorgeous - from the trees lining the streets to the boat making its way down the canal and under the bridge, you can’t deny how realistic it all looks, as one user pointed out on Twitter.

“Oh my god Amsterdam looks *incredibly* realistic in the new Call of Duty - almost can’t believe this is a video game,” @juanbuis wrote.
However, things get taken to the next level when you compare that same footage directly to a real life recording. Twitter user @korkmazmelih went to the trouble of recreating the viral gameplay video on the actual streets of Amsterdam, and the two basically line up perfectly. Take a look below.
Pretty scenery aside, a number of players have been hailing Modern Warfare II’s campaign as one of the best, if not the best, in the series’ history. Given how many iconic campaigns the series has seen in the past, that’s pretty high praise.
