The Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes are still on track for new-gen consoles, promises Rockstar Games in an update.
Back in April 2022, Rockstar Games announced that it was remaking both the original two Max Payne titles from the ground up. The remakes will be developed by Remedy Entertainment, the creators of the first game.

“We were thrilled when our long-time friends at Remedy approached us about remaking the original Max Payne games," said Rockstar founder Sam Houser at the time of the announcement. "We are massive fans of the work the Remedy team has created over the years and we can't wait to play these new versions.”
“Max Payne has always held a special place in the hearts of everyone at Remedy, and we know the millions of fans worldwide feel the same," added Remedy CEO Tero Virtala.
However, ever since the time of its announcement, we’ve not heard much else about the remakes. Thankfully, as reported by Comicbook.com, Rockstar Games has provided an update on the progression of the remakes.
“Max Payne 1&2 remake continues in the concept stage,” said Rockstar in a financial statement. “The project has made good progress. We are looking forward to bringing this beloved character alive again to a new generation of consoles and to a new generation of fans.”

At this time, we do not have a release date for the Max Payne remakes. Hopefully, Rockstar Games will show off some gameplay at some point this year. However, do you know that the remakes will release for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
While we wait for the remakes to arrive, be sure to check out this amazing fan remake of Max Payne powered by Unreal Engine 5. This at least gives us a taste of perhaps what to expect when that time comes.
