Another year draws to a close and still, we’re without a Grand Theft Auto VI reveal … sort of. There was, of course, a major leak back in October. In case you missed it, Rockstar was the target of a cyber attack which saw over an hour of GTA VI development footage leak online, alongside source code and screenshots. A UK-based teenager was subsequently arrested pleading “not guilty” in court.
According to Rockstar, the leak won’t affect GTA VI’s development. In truth though, a reveal is likely to be years away but in the meantime, I have just the thing to tide you over. To celebrate another incredible year, Grand Theft Auto Online is receiving a big content update.
Take a look at this incredible mod that lets you play as The Boys’ Homelander in GTA V.
As posted on the Rockstar blog, players will soon be able to get their hands on the retro-styled Declasse Tahoma Coupe as a result of what was achieved during The Heists Challenge. This will be made available later this month for a limited period. Let’s dive into the real meat of the update though which includes general improvements, vehicle updates, and economy updates.

Players will now be able to get to their favorite iFruit contacts faster by selecting which contacts to hide or display, the Benefactor Terrorbyte can now be used to launch Business Sell Missions in all session types, you can take on Agatha’s Casino Story Missions as a solo operator, plus PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game will receive ray-traced reflections via the Fidelity Mode setting.
In terms of vehicles, new purchases will arrive in your garage faster, select custom weaponized vehicles can now be used in races, bicycles will be added to the list of vehicles that can be requested from your garage when calling the mechanic, and PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players will be able to enjoy access to Hao’s Special Works without completing Hao’s introductory race.
There’s more. Completing vehicle cargo missions in public sessions will award a high demand bonus, payouts on Smuggler’s Sell Missions have been permanently tripled, and the value of all Shark Cards have been increased. Seeing as these improvements are all based on player feedback, I’d imagine this update will go down very well.
It’s set to launch later this month on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC - and Rockstar even teased further content. They wrote, “Take a walk on the wild side of Blaine County in the first installment of a massive multi-part update taking you all across the expanse of Southern San Andreas, featuring some familiar faces and a new troupe of entrepreneurial misfits on a mission to expand the minds of the citizens of Los Santos, one trip at a time. Plus, expect a fleet of new vehicles, world events, Contact Missions, and more.” I sense that we’re in for a good time.
