We’d all love to see Commander Shepard return – she’s an icon that led earth to safety, and sacrificed herself in the process. Yet, the likelihood of her revival is small… or is it? With a new Mass Effect RPG on the way, it seems there’s life in the ol’ gal yet.
When the Mass Effect 5 trailer teased a returning fan-favourite, we collectively put our heads together to try and establish fact from fiction. It was an exciting time. But we never stopped to think it’s Shepard who could be returning to us.
As if any of you need reminding – but just in case, here's the official teaser trailer for the next Mass Effect.
Oh yes, she might not be returning quite like you remember her, but Shepard is coming back in a new Mass Effect RPG.

Set during the troubles of Mass Effect 3 – oh, the painful memories – Mass Effect the Board Game - Priority: Hagalaz will see Shepard and co do battle with Cerberus once more to learn what secrets it’s hiding.
“In the remote world Hagalaz, a research cruiser from the terrorist organization Cerberus has crashed directly in the path of a deadly storm," the synopsis reads. "With little time before the storm hits, Shepard must lead their squad through the cruiser to uncover its sinister secrets and keep them out of the hands of the enemy. However, the ship holds more dangers than just its former crew. Deep within the shattered cruiser stir creatures and enemies far worse than the Cerberus forces that guard them.”
BioWare's beloved Shepard won’t be facing this alone; Garrus, Liara, Tali, and Wrex will be there to lend a hand. There could be even more familiar characters showing up, however, these names are the ones confirmed thus far. And for those who play Shepard as a man (not the right choice, but we’ll let it go for now), there’s miniature figurines of both options.
As for a launch window, all we know at the time of writing this is that Mass Effect the Board Game - Priority: Hagalaz is coming soon.
