BioWare’s latest RPG Dragon Age: The Veilguard is finally out, which has of course prompted every single BioWare fan to update their tier lists.
Although Mass Effect and Dragon Age should live in perfect harmony, especially when you consider all of the links between the two franchises, some folks can’t help but pick sides.
Even though Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been widely praised by the majority of the player base and the gaming media (currently sitting at an 84 on Metacritic right now by the way), a few people can’t help but compare it to BioWare’s past games.

A thread over on the r/TwoBestFriendsPlay subreddit titled “Fan impressions of Dragon Age: The Veilguard are in! The verdict is: It's Mass Effect 2 combined with Inquisition, with all the annoying parts of Inquisition removed” should put that all into context.
The Mass Effect comparisons weren’t entirely positive, however.
“The dialogue looks way worst then ME2 tho…” stated user ABigCoffee, “Which is still my main issue with it regardless of anything else.”
A lot of people were far more complimentary though, such as user WhoCaresYouDont who replied saying “So a combination of their best two games (at least since moving to third person) with the annoying bits of the previous entry removed? Sounds great, I'm glad the Dragon Age fans are getting something good and Bioware seems to have course corrected somewhat.”

Honestly though, instead of reading through endless debates regarding which BioWare game is the best, I suggest you take at look at GAMINGBible’s own Emma Flint’s piece on the Dragon Age franchise’s positive queer representation.
Or alternatively, you could just play the game and potentially enjoy it instead. Put the tier lists away folks, the game has been out just over a day. At least finish the game before you start waffling about it online.
