Earlier this week, it was confirmed that American actor Jonathan Majors, known for his roles in The Harder They Fall, Devotion and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, ‘parted ways’ with talent agency Entertainment 360, after being arrested on charges of assault and harassment last month. It’s claimed that Majors has been dropped by his public relations manager, the Lede Company, too.
Majors, 33, was arrested on 25 March in Manhattan, New York, and charged with assault and harassment regarding a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman. Reportedly, the victim was taken to hospital to be treated for “minor injuries to her head and neck”. However, Majors’ legal team denied the allegations - his lawyer stated that the actor “completely denies assaulting the woman” (via Variety).
As the actor for Kang the Conqueror, Majors is currently set to have a major role in the MCU’s upcoming films, including 2025’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and 2026’s Avengers: Secret Wars. The question everyone is now wondering is if he’s going to be recast - industry insider Jeff Sneider recently stated that discussions are already in motion between Marvel chiefs on the matter. However, a few days ago, Deadline claimed that there had been no talks to drop him from Marvel yet.

Meanwhile on Twitter, Marvel fans have made it clear that they’d like to see John Boyega take the role. The British actor is best known as Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker.
“John Boyega getting the recast as Kang would be the perfect career revival I want for him,” @Blackkout__ tweeted. “John Boyega would make a great Kang,” wrote @CoreyDeshon. “If Marvel is going to recast Kang[,] John Boyega is a perfect replacement,” agreed @Forbes_Dj45.
It remains to be seen if Majors is recast at all - Marvel has not made a public statement on the matter at the time of writing.
