HBO’s The Last of Us is the gift that keeps on giving. We’re now six episodes into the show’s nine episode run and there isn’t a dud in sight. The latest instalment, ‘Kin,’ introduced us to the community of Jackson and saw Joel finally reunited with his brother Tommy.
Jackson is a prominent location in The Last of Us Part II and if you’re a fan of the game like I am, I’m sure you too found it exciting to see the location established earlier than anticipated in the story. Speaking of The Last of Us Part II, eagle-eyed fans think they’ve spotted a Part II character lurking in one shot. In another, viewers noticed a rather embarrassing filming gaffe. We’re here now though to discuss one scene in particular which fans say Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey absolutely nailed.
The Last of Us Part I launches on PC on 28 March. Check out the game below.
If you’ve played The Last of Us Part I, I’m sure Ellie and Joel’s farmhouse argument sticks out in your mind as one of the game’s most memorable scenes. You know the one I’m talking about. “Everyone I’ve ever loved has either died or left me. Everyone f**cking except for you.” Yeah, that one. Even just typing that line, my heart shattered into a million pieces.

A snippet of the scene actually featured in one of HBO’s earliest trailers for The Last of Us, with fans praising Pedro’s take on Joel’s voice. Now that the full scene is out though, fans are in agreement that Pedro and Bella did an incredible job. Twitter user john_sacco94 wrote, “This scene was absolutely EVERYTHING! One of the greatest scenes in a video game EVER and it was transferred to TV incredibly! This show is phenomenal.”
User ellievjoel added, “Word for word. Recreating one of the best most emotional scenes in The Last of Us. Pedro and Bella are hands down the perfect Joel and Ellie. DOWN TO THE TONE THEY'RE INSANE,” while birchbeer1594 said, “If you ever played The Last of Us game, you know that one scene in tonight’s episode … Holy s**t did Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey nail it. I’m absolutely speechless.” I quite agree.
