Hogwarts Legacy has only been out for just over a year, but players have found loads of secrets and Easter eggs that link to the series' lore, but you probably haven't found this secret in particular.
Originally released in February 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S before arriving on other platforms, Hogwarts Legacy not only out-sold the mighty Elden Ring in just five weeks but also went on to become the best-selling game of that year. Now, fans are eagerly awaiting the prospect of Hogwarts Legacy 2.
Check out the Hogwarts Legacy trailer below!
“Experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart,” reads the description of Hogwarts Legacy. “Make allies, battle Dark wizards, and ultimately decide the fate of the wizarding world. Your legacy is what you make of it. Live the Unwritten.”

Recently, Hogwarts Legacy fans have benefited from the release of the free summer update, which not only brought content previously exclusive to PlayStation such as the ‘Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest’ to other platforms but also a new photo mode so that players can share their snazzy snaps across social media.
In celebration of the Hogwarts Legacy summer update, the developers at Avalanche Software have been live-streaming the new content on platforms such as YouTube and Twitch. However, in a recent Twitch live-stream, the developers revealed a secret hidden away in Hogwarts Legacy that I guarantee many of us never knew existed, until now.
Avalanche Software has revealed that during the Hufflepuff house quest when you reach Azkaban, you might occasionally see a Mooncalf locked away in one of the cells. When I say “might”, I mean that there’s a 1/1000 chance of seeing the Mooncalf in the cell according to the developers and it’s so rare, that even some of the devs haven't witnessed it in real-time yet.
My question is: What was his crime?
