Heads up, Potter fans - Warner Bros. Games’ newest title is about to open its doors to players, who can dive in completely free.
If there’s one main complaint that Harry Potter fans had about Hogwarts Legacy, it was its complete omission of the broom-based sport, Quidditch. Although the game does try to excuse this (the in-game reason is that the sport was cancelled due to an injury during the final match in spring), that still didn’t soften the blow for anyone who was hoping to spend their time in the school of witchcraft and wizardry honing their craft as a seeker, keeper, chaser or beater.

Now though, gamers finally have the chance to take to the sky and participate in good old fashioned Quidditch. Earlier this year, the competitive multiplayer game Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions was announced for PC and consoles. At the time, fans were invited to sign up for limited free playtests, and while the first of these opened up in April, according to fans on Reddit, more players are now being let in to give the game a whirl.

According to an email shared by Reddit user VernaltheDynx, one upcoming playtest is going to take place between 28 and 31 July, so if you signed up before, be sure to check your emails so that you don’t miss out. Not everyone has been selected, mind you, so don’t build your hopes up.
As you’d expect, Warner Bros. Games has asked everyone to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) in order to join in, so it’s unlikely that we’re going to see any information surface about the game because of the playtest.
If you’ve not already signed up for the Quidditch Champions playtests, you can do so right here to be in with a chance of being selected in the future.
