Xbox gamers can be gifted a free Xbox game that doesn’t require Xbox Game Pass to play, it’s not a bad choice either.
I don’t know if any of you heard, but there’s this obscure little indie game called Minecraft that’s recently gotten a big-screen adaptation, it’s not a very popular game though so you’re forgiven if you don’t know what I’m talking about…
Check out the trailer for A Minecraft Movie below, it’s not bad
Well as if it was written in the stars there’s a free game being given out by Amazon Prime Gaming right now, a Minecraft game just in time for the film’s release.

Minecraft Legends for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC is being given away as a Microsoft Store code, and while you can play the game through Xbox Game Pass this method means you don’t have to pay for a subscription.
It also means you just own the game outright too, so if it ever gets pulled off the subscription service you'll keep it. Chances are it’ll remain a permanent resident of Xbox Game Pass though given Microsoft owns Mojang.
Unlike the sandbox game Minecraft Legends takes a more story-driven approach to the world of Minecraft, where players must take part in real-time strategy battles and defend the Overworld from piglins, who are swarming the world from the Nether.
Again it’s great timing considering the piglins are the main antagonist in A Minecraft Movie, so it’s worth a go if you’re a fan of the series but haven’t played it already.

All you need is a valid subscription to Amazon Prime Gaming, which you’ll probably have if you use Amazon’s services a lot.
It’s not just Minecraft Legends either, there are plenty of other free games being handed out through the service as well, primarily for PC users.
