There’s no denying that Hogwarts Legacy has been a major commercial success. It’s a game that, for the most part, players have enjoyed. That being said, while Hogwarts itself is truly dazzling, fans are in agreement that there are several other areas of the game which are lacking in development.
To date, Hogwarts Legacy has earned a whopping $1 billion - and that number will likely continue to grow with the delayed Nintendo Switch launch planned for later this year. In fact, the game has outperformed several Harry Potter films. You’d assume then a sequel is on the cards. If that is to happen though, fans want to see a number of changes imposed, including a working companion system and a school-based morality system akin to that featured in Rockstar Games’ classic title Bully. One of Hogwarts Legacy’s most glaring omissions though is Quidditch.

Hogwarts Legacy explains very quickly in the opening act that Quidditch is unplayable this school year due to a student injury, but players were less than impressed with that explanation. Fans will soon be able to play Quidditch though. The only catch is that it’s going to be in an entirely separate game. Back in April, Quidditch Champions was officially announced, prompting many Hogwarts Legacy fans to assess that this is likely why the sport wasn’t included in the game.

It’s a theory that makes a lot of sense. Why would anyone want to play Quidditch Champions if they were already getting their Quidditch fix in Hogwarts Legacy? We don’t know when Quidditch Champions is due to release (it’s believed to be in testing) but gameplay footage has leaked online and it turns out, fans are thrilled with the ‘amazing’ results.
The footage has since been removed from Reddit but user Tedinasuit wrote, “HOLY S**T that looks amazing,” while Itsdelirio added, “Amazing! Can’t wait to play this.” Another compared it to Rocket League. Hopefully an official gameplay reveal isn’t too far away.
