Bad news for Hogwarts Legacy fans - it doesn’t sound like players can expect any major content to be added the game post-launch.
While many had been counting down the days until Hogwarts Legacy's release, not everyone is on board with the Wizarding World RPG. Many gamers are boycotting the title due to its association with J.K. Rowling, who has been heavily criticised for making harmful comments about the trans community, and will profit from the game’s sales despite not being involved with its development.
Take a look around Hogsmeade in Hogwarts Legacy below.
Many who have been playing the game have been criticising it for various reasons. Frustratingly, Hogwarts Legacy suffers from God of War Ragnarök’s puzzle problem as the characters love to blurt out hints and answers immediately upon being presented with an obstacle, giving players no time to solve it themselves. Some are also disappointed that there’s not a proper companion system in the game that allows you to wander around Hogwarts with the other characters freely.

Perhaps the greatest let-down of all has been the complete omission of Quidditch. The broom-based sport was a massive part of the original Harry Potter series, and although Hogwarts Legacy attempts to justify the fact that it can’t be played in-game by saying that there was an “unfortunate injury” on the pitch last season, many have been hopeful that it could later be added as DLC.
Sadly, it seems that those dreams are probably dead. Hogwarts Legacy game director Alan Tew stated during IGN Fan Fest (via VGC) that there are no current plans for DLC at all.
“We’ve been really heads down bringing [Hogwarts Legacy] to life,” he said. “So at the moment, there are no current plans for DLC.”
Although there might not be any current plans, that doesn’t mean that the devs will never add anything extra to the game, but don’t hold your breath.
