While we'd hope that the tussle between PlayStation and Xbox is over and we've all matured a lot since then, sometimes it's clear that one has been prioritised over the other. That's the way the cookie crumbles in one of Hogwarts Legacy's side quests which has been melting players' minds in Hogsmeade Village.
This isn't the only bonus that those on PlayStation have benefitted from in Hogwarts Legacy. The DualSense will change colour depending on which house you've selected, a feature that frankly never gets old. Moreover, there is the House Cup that is offering avatar rewards and the chance of winning a Disc Edition PS5 and Collector’s Edition of the game in massive sweepstakes. Luck will need to be on your side on that one, and of course, PlayStation pre-orders also came with access to the Felix Felicis potion recipe from the get go.
Take a tour of the Gryffindor common room below:
And, last but not least, there is the exclusive Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest. "Cassandra Mason has a shop to sell you in Hogsmeade, but all is not as it seems in this run-down establishment. What sinister secrets lie beneath Madam Mason’s shop and why was she so keen to sell it?" reads the synopsis, and it seems that the story delivered on the darker elements of the Wizarding World.

"The haunted shop quest is arguably the best side quest in the game," said user SparksNBolts on the Hogwarts Legacy subreddit. "The quest takes full advantage of the console’s SSD to keep changing the interior of the room you’re in. There are so many 'holy sh*t' moments." We won't spoil what happens here, never fear, but it has been a hit.
"Scared the crap out of me! But it was definitely a nice change of pace and surprise as I can safely say, no other quest is like it," added Reddit user justlpeachy. There is good news for those who opted for the PC, Xbox or Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy. This quest is a time-limited exclusive meaning that this will unlock for everyone else on 10 February, 2024.
You do wonder whether the controversies of Hogwarts Legacy will have faded from the public's memory at that point, though there has been a lot of good done for charities from the protests.
