I hope you’re ready to be emotionally destroyed, because we’re creeping ever closer to the release of HBO’s The Last of Us series. Well, as of now, we only have a vague release window of 2023, but it sure is coming, and it looks more and more like it’s going to be a very tough watch, in the best possible way.
Last month, on The Last of Us Day (26 September, or the day of the outbreak, for those unaware), we got our first full trailer for the series, and fans everywhere were incredibly excited to see Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in action as Joel and Ellie, respectively. Now, as reported by GameSpot, HBO Max has released a reel of clips from a number of upcoming shows, including, you guessed it, everyone’s favourite post-apocalyptic nightmare.
Take a look at HBO’s new trailer showcase below - stick around to see The Last of Us.
Despite the fact that all the clips shown here are the same as what we’ve seen before, that’s not stopped fans from getting super hyped about the show: “I honestly can't wait to see the new The Last Of Us series. I just hope that the series stays true to the game and doesn't [cut] out any key important parts of the story,” commented YouTube user Dominic Trujillo. “Hearing Pedro say Joel lines gave me chills down my spine!” wrote apap. “Can't wait for The Last Of Us!!” said JustAnotherFangirl.

Back to the actual game, and I’m sure it’s no surprise to hear that The Last of Us Part I is already out here winning awards. The remake recently secured itself the September's Players' Choice Award on PS5, which just goes to show how popular it is. In her review, GAMINGbible’s Kate Harrold wrote: “This is hands down the most emotionally invested I’ve been in this story since experiencing it for the first time.”
