The Harry Potter franchise has been pretty dormant in recent years beyond the Fantastic Beasts films.
However, the next few years will bring much more for fans of the Wizarding World with Director's Cut plans for Hogwarts Legacy, the new HBO TV show kicking off, and now a delightful return to the books.
Potter fans can look forward to the upcoming HBO series.
Bloomsbury Publishing house has announced a set of illustrated books called Pocket Potters, which provide a reading guide to the franchises' hero characters of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.

The three books will debut on 26 August 2025 and feature lovely artwork from Natalie Smillie, Laura Proietti, and Olia Muza.
Each book is 32 pages and will be the “ultimate guide” to the novel versions of the three characters, aimed at children aged from seven years old.
Of course, all Potter fans can get in on the books, as age doesn’t mean anything in a fandom where magic and mythical creatures exist.
This project is one more great addition to the Potterverse and something new for fans to collect and appreciate.

The website notes that the books are “designed to appeal to young readers aged seven to 10 while offering depth for long-time fans, each Pocket Potter guide will showcase the work of emerging international illustrators”.
The books are designed to allow readers to further explore their favourite characters and their lives within the books.
This series will expand in 2026 with four characters, including Albus Dumbledore.
From what we can see on the publisher’s website, the artwork is stunning and manages to capture the essence of each character.

While it’s noted that the books are made “in collaboration with J.K. Rowling’s agents, The Blair Partnership,” there are no details whether the author is directly involved, as it seems the books are inspired by the series.
