Harry Potter fans are delighted with a brand new Wizarding World series that we might have missed.

When it comes to popular franchises of today, it doesn't get much bigger than Harry Potter, whether it's the movies, novels, Hogwarts Legacy and so much merchandise that it’s even too much for a Niffler to hoard.

However, out of all the Harry Potter goodness that’s available to us today, I don't think many of us would expect to see a TV series based on a cooking contest and one that looks to be quite good.

The cooking series in question is Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking and recently, its debut season has concluded in the US on HBO’s Max platform and Amazon’s Prime streaming service in the UK.

“Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is the new competition series from Max and Food Network, hosted by James and Oliver Phelp,” reads the synopsis of the show. “Join professional bakers as they create Harry Potter-inspired showstoppers!”

To the surprise of some fans, Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking has proved to be a hit. “I thought it was an interesting way to pair contestants up and I thought the judges were tough,” said Redditor DallasNotHouston discussing its first episode. “ I love baking shows and I’m so excited about this”

“I about lost my mind when they started reading the secret message with the candy glasses, that was incredible,” replied DealerCamel. “I’ve only ever watched Great British Bake Off and this is definitely a level above.”

“I’m watching it right now and I’m enjoying it!” exclaimed Hopeful-Ant-3509.

“This is cute. I've enjoyed seeing the Harry Potter creations, and the hosts bring back instant nostalgia,” said Enchiridion5. “However, I'm kind of confused by the format. The eliminations feel a bit random.”

All six episodes of Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking are available to watch now.
