It’s been a while since we’ve heard rumours of a new Half-Life game but alas, more have arrived and the never-ending meme of “Half-Life 3 confirmed” has been renewed once more.
Developed by Valve Corporation, Half-Life was originally released for PC in 1998 and to say it was an important game is an understatement. It looked gorgeous for its time and offered refined FPS gameplay and immersive storytelling centred around protagonist Gordon Freeman and the Black Mesa Research Facility.

Then in 2004, we had what is arguably the greatest sequel of all time, Half-Life 2, which was also supported by two fantastic episode DLCs. Sadly, we were supposed to get an episode 3 which would lead into Half-Life 3, but 17 years later, at the time of writing, the third numbered entry in this beloved series is yet to arrive.

There was some great news in 2020 with the release of Half-Life: Alyx, but unfortunately for most fans in the series, this critically acclaimed prequel to Half-Life 2 not only demands a high-end PC to play but it’s also a VR exclusive. This means that millions of fans are unable to see what all the fuss is about when it comes to Half-Life: Alyx.
I’d hate to get fans' hopes up because I am one of them, but as spotted on Reddit, a new leak that has come from a resume of an actor named Natasha Chandel’s website, mentions a voice-over project for something called “Project White Sands” for Valve.

That is not all, because as reported by Tweaktown.com, dataminer and known Valve leaker, Tyler McVicker has also found a mention of “Project White Sands”, which offers further validation to the resume of Natasha Chandel. Could this really be a case of no smoke without fire?
The mention of “Project White Sands” may be removed by the time you read this article, but while it doesn't mention Half-Life 3 directly, the reason why this resume has stirred up quite the fuss is that White Sands is a place in New Mexico, the location of Black Mesa from the original Half-Life.
Previously, Natasha Chandel has worked on the likes of Call of Duty: Vanguard, Starfield, Fallout 76 and much more, so she’s no stranger to working with major video game projects. Of course, we should take all unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.
As always, we’ll keep you posted if we hear any further developments on the potential of a new Half-Life game.
