GTA: San Andreas fans wowed by secret ending found after 20 years

GTA: San Andreas fans wowed by secret ending found after 20 years

All you had to do was jump off the damn plane, CJ!

If you were to ask Grand Theft Auto fans which game in the series is the best, many would answer GTA: San Andreas, and for good reason.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is an amazing game, one of the best. GTA: San Andreas was released almost 20 years to the day when this article was written, and to say that Rockstar Games' entry was revolutionary would be an understatement.

Check out the GTA: San Andreas trailer below!

Not only is the map of GTA: San Andreas huge and packed to the brim of diverse locations with endlessly fun activities, but it also has interesting mechanics such as being able to change the protagonist CJ’s body type depending on how the player looked after him which would impact his abilities.

You can also improve his combat, driving and plane skills. Not to mention that you could partake in casino activities, go hunting and search for a Big Foot that never existed, and much more.

If you were willing to look for them or encounter them by accident, some missions also had alternate endings or more accurately, an alternate demise for CJ. One such alternate ending is in the mission ‘Stowaway’ as brought to our attention by Twitter user, SynthPotato.

To see this alternate ending in GTA: San Andreas, you had to jump off the back of the plane without a parachute. If you do this, you’ll be treated to a comical cutscene of CJ splatting on top of a car.

“This got me gagging and choking. I remember I used to go up to the tallest building in Los Santos and jump to see his hilarious reaction to falling and splattering on the ground. Ahhh, good times,” replied TheMitch_TMZ.

The most modern version of GTA: San Andreas that you can play today is the one included in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition. This collection of remasters is available for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.

The next entry in the series will be GTA VI, currently scheduled to be released sometime in late 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The inevitable PC release is yet to be announced by Rockstar Games.
