It’s been a major week for Grand Theft Auto fans. Rockstar Games finally acknowledged GTA VI, confirming that a new trailer will be debuted next month.
Yes, we’re getting our first GTA VI trailer in early December. Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards is due to be held on 7 December, so it’s possible that it could be unveiled there. Then again, Rockstar usually makes announcements on its own terms, so only time will tell. I’m calling it GTA VI but Rockstar actually referred to the game as “the next Grand Theft Auto”, prompting fans to wonder whether it will end up going by another moniker like Vice City and San Andreas. Hopefully, the upcoming trailer will provide a release window although we have a pretty good idea of when GTA VI is landing thanks to Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive. While we await the trailer, one fan has demonstrated what GTA VI’s weather is likely to look like.

You’d assume that Grand Theft Auto fans also would’ve sampled Rockstar’s other iconic franchise Red Dead Redemption but if you haven’t, one user has handily showcased Red Dead Redemption 2’s impressively sophisticated weather system to give an idea of what GTA VI’s might look like. Reddit user Rtzx1 said, “The weather system in RDR2 above Saint Denis. I posted this five months ago but since there are a lot more people in this sub right now and the fact that a trailer for GTA VI is coming next month, I figured it'd be cool to show all of the new people what to expect for the weather system in GTA VI.”

If you haven’t sampled the excellent Red Dead Redemption 2, the game cycles between glorious golden hour sunshine, atmospheric heavy rainstorms, and blisteringly cold falling snow with ease. We’ll likely see similarly dynamic environments in GTA VI. Take a look at the OP’s video below.
“RDR2 gives me so much optimism for GTA VI,” said same_captain9025 while D_Northwind added, “Knowing Rockstar, it’s bound to be improved even further in [GTA] VI.” It’s true. Red Dead Redemption 2 looks fantastic, but it’s five years old now. Think of the improvements Rockstar will have made in that time. Oh boy, I’m excited.
