Bad news, folks. As the world continues to wait not-so-patiently for the release of the next Grand Theft Auto game, pretty much the only thing we have to keep us motivated is the hope of the first trailer dropping. Surely it’s got to be soon, right? Sadly, it might not be as close as everyone was expecting.
In the many, many months since Rockstar Games announced that the next GTA game is in development (which everyone’s just been referring to as GTA VI), we’ve probably not gone a single week without some insider throwing out a potential date for the trailer to be revealed. Most recently, it was suggested that it could be coming some time within the next three weeks - namely, before 17 May. Why? That’s the date of Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive’s Q4 2023 earnings conference call, and there’d certainly be nothing better to discuss than what’s arguably the most highly anticipated video game of our generation.
Take a look at what GTA VI might look like when it releases with this GTA V Vice City mod.
As thrilling as it is to imagine that the trailer could be so close, there’s still a decent chance that it’s not going to happen so soon. As ComicBook reports, 17 September marks the 10 year anniversary of GTA V, which also happens to fall on a Sunday. Why does that matter? Red Dead Redemption 2 was also first teased on a Sunday (16 October, to be exact), which is making some wonder if the company might follow a pattern and drop the GTA VI teaser on a Sunday, too. Yes, I’m aware that this is a bit of a reach, but let’s go with it.

At this point though, all of this is pure speculation - it's likely that the actual reveal might happen on a day that’s not related to anything in particular on Rockstar or Take-Two’s calendars. All we can do is sit tight and stay frosty.
