What do we want? A release date for GTA 6. When do we want it? Preferably now but I guess we can wait another year.
It has been a few months since Rockstar released the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 and after a ten-year wait, it is safe to say that it almost broke the internet.
Could we be seeing the next Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer as early as this month?
Arriving alongside a tentative 2025 release date, fans are eager to know if we can still expect the long-awaited game next year.

Luckily for them, a recent Tweet breaks down what we can expect from Rockstar Games and Grand Theft Auto publisher Take-Two in the upcoming months.
Posted on 4 May, the Tweet reads: “Next week, we’re likely to find out whether GTA 6 will launch in early 2025 or later, as Take-Two previously stated they would reveal FY25 plans (games releasing before April 2025 and estimated revenue) in their final quarter earnings call on May 16th.”
Explaining further, it states that if Take-Two “still anticipates $7 billion in revenue, that means GTAVI is still on track to launch in early 2025 and Trailer 2 reveal would be imminent (late May - early June).”
To cut a long story short, how soon Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released depends on Take-Two’s upcoming earnings call.

However, with the publisher recently enacting a series of layoffs which resulted in multiple projects being scrapped, it remains to be seen how this has affected the company’s earnings.
Until we receive an update, fans of Grand Theft Auto can still find something to do as GTA 5 recently received a GTA 6-inspired update. Not only that but a massive map expansion can also be added to your game for absolutely free!
