It's no secret that Rockstar Games is particularly adept at squeezing every last ounce of power from a console.
This is the company that managed to get GTA V on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and released Red Dead Redemption 2 - still one of the best looking games of all-time - on PS4 and Xbox One.
The question: "will GTA VI come to last-gen consoles?" isn't actually an entirely unfair one, then, even if the answer is kind of a bummer.

All you really need to know is what Take-Two has said about the matter: “Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., is proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto VI is coming to PlayStation 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems in 2025.”
Still, that hasn't stopped fans discussing the possibility of GTA VI on PS4 and Xbox One - with predictably divisive results.
"It’s going to blow up if they even attempt to make a PS4 version," joked one user on the GTA subreddit.
Another user added: "I think people don't realize that the PS4 is outdated now," in reference to the fact the last gen consoles are now 12 years old. Excuse me while I go and have a small breakdown.

Others were a little more optimistic. "Tbh a lot of games looked absolutely stunning on PS4," one fan reasoned. "Like RDR2 TLOU2... but GTA VI is too much for it.
Basically, if you've yet to upgrade your PS4 or Xbox One, it might be time to stop living in denial and accept the only way to play GTA VI is on something more powerful.
