Grand Theft Auto VI fans slam the prospect of GTA Online 2 selling as a standalone title as “highway robbery” and we agree.
No doubt, when GTA VI finally graces us with its presence, it will likely become one of the most successful games of all time, both critically and commercially, regardless of whether Rockstar Games decides to sell GTA VI for £100.
Check out the GTA VI trailer below!
After all, GTA V is already one of the most successful games of all time and that includes its multiplayer spin-off title, GTA Online, available bundled with the base game or as a standalone purchase.

GTA V on its own has sold a ridiculous amount of copies generating huge amounts of revenue for Rockstar Games and its publisher, Take-Two Interactive. The main reason GTA Online generates so much money is largely due to its in-game currency sold as Shark Cards.
It remains to be seen whether the next iteration of GTA Online achieves the same level of success as its predecessor, but I don’t think any of us would be surprised if it did.
We’d assume that GTA VI will also follow in the footsteps of its predecessor by bundling GTA Online 2 with the base game and later, will be sold as a standalone game, just like Red Dead Online.
However, what if GTA Online 2 wasn't bundled with GTA VI at launch and instead, launched alongside GTA VI as its own release? This prospect has understandably gotten fans riled.

On the GTA forums, known as Rockstar Games leaker, Tez2 has claimed that Grand Theft Auto VI will be the first game in the series to be sold separately at launch alongside GTA Online 2.
“That is highway robbery,” replied Devdevi45.
“I’m going to guess the standard version will be $70 along with a $90-100 version that includes some extra side missions and weapons/bonuses in the story mode as well as some goodies for GTA Online,” said Jisoo.
“I'm ready to pay $150, which is what I expect the most expensive digital editions to be,” claimed Moonshine Wagon Fan.

Could the rumoured £100 launch price of GTA VI be justified if it was sold with GTA Online 2 and if GTA VI was sold without its online addition, could that price be lower? Only time will tell.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to be released late this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Its PC release is yet to be announced.
