Allow me to begin by bursting any bubbling sense of excitement you may have had building.
No, you cannot yet pre-order Grand Theft Auto VI - but dataminers have now located code pertaining to pre-orders of both physical and digital versions of the game on Rockstar’s website, so we could be getting pretty close.
Without even being released, GTA VI feels like a monumental game. Back when its first trailer dropped in December of last year, it quickly smashed the record previously held by MrBeast for the most views achieved in 24-hours.

Even Rockstar’s tweet announcing the trailer’s debut date quickly became the most liked gaming-related tweet of all-time.
You can see why analysts are referring to GTA VI as the most important game to release in gaming history.
Fans are itching to get their hands on it, quite understandably, but we’ve got a 2025 release date to contend with.
Take a look at GTA VI in action below.
Hopefully, as we enter the latter end of this year, Rockstar will amp up its marketing for the game which should mean a second trailer.

It’s likely that we’ll get our first glimpse at some gameplay at that point in time which is a hugely exciting prospect.
Could pre-orders open then? Well, dataminers seem to think that Rockstar is primed and ready for that very moment.
Reddit user Both_Play_3210 did some digging into the backend of Rockstar’s website, finding files that mentioned both physical and digital pre-orders.
“After some changes to the Rockstar website that brought more visibility to GTA VI, I decided to investigate the website's console files and found pre-programming of the game's schematics, including options for physical and digital versions,” they wrote.

“While it's not a monumental discovery, it could indicate that we're getting closer to the second trailer and possibly a reveal about purchase availability and pricing at the end of the video.”
The GTA VI community certainly seems hopeful.
“This is great, nice catch dude. We need trailer two soon,” said Ok_Psychology5332, while starsvthebans added, “Awesome find. I'm so excited to see this marketing rollout.”
Hang in tight, my friends. We’re on the final stint of a decade-long wait.
