GTA 6 meets Mafia in stunning new photorealistic open world game

GTA 6 meets Mafia in stunning new photorealistic open world game

Will GTA have competition?

This upcoming open-world title from a brand-new studio is already giving fans Grand Theft Auto meets Mafia vibes.

Being compared to Grand Theft Auto is an accolade that most studios would want to achieve, especially those that are just starting out.

Check out the first and only official trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 below!

That is why it is good news for Liquid Swords, a brand-new studio created by Christofer Sundberg, co-founder of Avalanche and creator of Just Cause.

Sundberg recently took to social media to share some screenshots of his next triple-A game.

We know that it is set to be an open-world title and judging from the screenshots shared, it will be reminiscent of Grand Theft Auto 6 mixed with a bit of the Mafia series.

The images show various trash-heaped streets, New York-style apartment buildings and underpasses as well as one showing a pool of blood and a lifeless hand.

“Our world is building. Our city is growing. Our streets are coming to life,” the official Tweet reads.

It looks very moody but thanks to its photorealistic graphics, it still looks beautiful and gives us hope about this still-secret project.

Despite knowing that it will be an open-world title, we do not know much else.

Not even its title.

However, with this game probably heading to the PlayStation 6 and next Xbox console, it is bound to push the limits of what we have seen up until now.

We can also assume that the untitled project will be made using Unreal Engine 5 so between that and much more powerful consoles running it, it is set to be an exciting release to say the least.

However, with Liquid Swords having no plans “to be a competitor to GTA or make a GTA-type game”, it remains to be seen which direction the game will go in throughout development.
