You know what I’m about to say so you may as well say it with me. The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI continues. We still have no confirmed word on when the next instalment in Rockstar Games’ wildly popular series is due out, although they have been teasing that very thing.
It’s been over one year since Rockstar officially confirmed the existence of GTA VI and to date, we haven’t actually seen what the game looks like. Last year, Rockstar was subject to a major cyber attack during which over an hour’s worth of development footage was leaked online, although much of this was quickly taken down. We could see some official footage soon seeing as GTA VI is rumoured to release sometime between April 2024 and April 2025. Admittedly, that’s a pretty long window but it’s more than we had to go on a few weeks back. To add to the building hype, one of the rumoured actors from the game has just dropped a major tease.
GTA VI is rumoured to be set in Vice City. This incredible mod may give us an idea of what to expect.
During the leak, fans uncovered materials suggesting that the main characters would be named Jason and Lucia. With a bit of nifty detective work, fans then pinned down actor Bryan Zampella as the guy bringing Jason to life. All of this remains unverified by Rockstar themselves but just a few weeks ago, Zampella posted a picture in Miami wearing a Hawaiian shirt which could mean he’s just enjoying a nice holiday, but fans are convinced this is confirming GTA VI’s Vice City setting.

Now, Zampella is seemingly at it again. In his latest tease, the actor has posted a picture of him looking out to the ocean. It seems ordinary enough, but he’s wearing the same outfit supposedly worn by Jason in last year’s leak. You can see why fans think this is a tease, but it could also be a major trolling.
Zampella’s casting hasn’t been confirmed so he could just be dropping fake teases to capitalise on the GTA VI related attention, or he could truly be our Jason - if that’s what the character is even called. We’re going to need some clarity from Rockstar eventually.
