Amazingly, GTA VI has just won an award.
We mean no shade towards Rockstar Games' upcoming title, just that it's kind of funny that the new GTA is winning awards before it's launched.
If nothing else, that demonstrates how much we're looking forward to the new title.

You likely already know what award GTA VI has won, but just in case you didn't watch The Games Award 2024 live, it won for the most anticipated game.
Even though it was up against stiff competition, we all knew that GTA VI would take this one.
For old time's sake, and because we have nothing else, make sure to watch the GTA VI trailer
Unfortunately for the GTA community, the joy of their beloved game winning an award is short lived when rumours of a potential delay loom on the horizon like storm clouds.

Despite winning an award, there was no one to take to the stage when the winner was announced.
No sooner than the first applause rung out than Geoff had moved onto the next award winners.
Even though we didn't get to hear from Rockstar about this win, that doesn't take away from how impressive and hilarious this particular accolade is.
Aside from GTA VI winning its first award (we're still laughing about that), there's been other incredible announcements at this year's award.

For those who love the difficulty cranked up to 11, there's Elden Ring: Nightreign, a new standalone experience.
We've also been treated to the Borderlands 4 trailer, as well as our first look at Ciri in The Witcher 4.
Oh yes, this event has been jam packed so far.
We look forward to clowning ourselves for that next GTA VI trailer, still reeling from the odd world we live in when a game can win an award without a single person having played it.
