Another day brings another crushing blow to the GTA VI community.
Earlier this week, an online leak appeared to reveal the launch date of the upcoming Rockstar Games title.
Despite no official announcement being made, this leak gave fans hope that GTA VI’s autumn launch window would still be met.

As always, fans tried to remain guarded given the lack of confirmation from official channels, but that often proves hard. Even more so with such a highly anticipated game.
Sadly, the so-called release date isn’t true.
We don't know whether to laugh or cry, so we'll watch the GTA VI trailer instead.
X Uruguay, the store that started this whole series of events, has released a statement intended to clear up any confusion regarding GTA VI’s launch.

“Like all fans, we are super excited and expectant for the release of GTA VI [...] It was not our intention to cause confusion and we want to clarify that we did not receive any official information from any of the brands regarding the game's release date.”
The post soon reveals that the information we so readily ate up was actually in reference to the GTA V release date.
According to X Uruguay, “A new guy told us the release date of GTA was already on google (it was that of GTA V) and we told him OK then put it (it was more of an inside joke that escalated).”
This news comes at a time when gamers are already disappointed after learning that GTA VI is unlikely to hit 60fps, as claimed by a former Rockstar employee.

Many players have high expectations for this new GTA, arguably some of which are placed far too high for Rockstar to ever meet.
That being said, given the “delusional” price tag of GTA VI, and the level of detail it promises to deliver, fans don’t believe 60fps is a bridge too far.
One thing that X Uruguay got right in all this unfortunate mess is that GTA VI is shaping up to be “one of the most important games in history”.
