One GTA fan has taken matters into their own hands by recreating the GTA VI map in GTA V.
It’s a monumental undertaking laden with concern, chiefly over whether Take-Two Interactive will shut the project down.
On X, YouTuber Dark Space has posted regular updates on their progress in making the GTA VI map playable.

Their latest project post said that Vice Beach is “nearly done”, with their sights set on making the Venetian islands next.
Everyone is desperate to learn more about GTA VI's Lucia and Jason.
Considering that there’s still only one GTA VI trailer, this is an exciting project for many frustrated gamers.

Though, it’s worth noting, that the latest GTA theory is that 30 January is a significant date to keep an eye on…
If that doesn’t pan out, just like every other theory thus far, at least Dark Space is delivering the GTA VI content gamers are hungry for.
“Great work KING. Absolutely legendary work my guy,” commented @hihi15713257.
User @Luxrrrr said, “Keep up the awesome work! Watching your videos has been a nice refresher from general speculation and clickbait surrounding GTA VI right now.”

Despite its warm reception, Dark Space is worried about Rockstar Games’ parent company noticing the project.
In an interview with IGN, the YouTuber remarked that they’re “always worried”. Still, they also believe that their work is different from other projects out there.
“This is a bit different from what I've been told by people who also make content like this for FiveM servers,” explained Dark Space.

“Vice City mod is a whole game remade in GTA IV. Not good for Rockstar [...] This is just me making my own fan-made map myself. All within GTA V itself. Any assets are from GTA V itself. A typical practice.”
For now, this GTA VI inspired creation is safe.
In fact, provided Take-Two doesn’t intervene, Dark Space might continue this until the GTA VI map is complete.
